WeAreTheCity will be launching a new Job Board focusing on female talent- Careers City. – Launches 01.10.2012
After 4 years of extensive growth in which we have become the preferred personal/professional website for over 70,000 women across London and beyond, it’s the right time to launch a new recruitment platform. With the combined support of recruitment agents and corporates, together, we will raise awareness of the magnitude of career opportunities available to women.
Recent research cites that there is a massive shortage of Women in various industries such as Finance and IT. In addition, we continue to lose female talent at the middle layer, either to entrepreneurial pursuits or childcare constraints. Fixing the leaking pipeline of talented women and attracting female talent back in to the workforce means demonstrating a more flexible approach beyond the 9-5 model. We are committed to promoting jobs across multi sectors and those where flexible and part time options are viable. We also want to help promote non executive roles, trustee positions and graduate recruitment to our female market.
With the combined support of recruitment agents and corporates, together, we will raise awareness of the magnitude of career opportunities available to women.
There’s been considerable effort from various groups including corporate programmes in relation to women on boards since the publication of the Lord Davies report 3 years ago. For us, it is not about imposed quotas from the EU or non exec training programmes, we believe it is about fixing the problem over time, by building a strong and robust future pipeline of female talent. Careers City will level the playing field in terms of attracting female applicants into all roles, junior, middle management, senior and C-Suite positions.
Placing women in the right jobs, with the right companies.
With over 10,000 City workers already registered with WeAreTheCity and hit rates of 2 million per month, we can leverage the wealth of our membership to help females in their professional development – placing women in the right jobs, with the right companies.
